Getting started

Watch this video or go directly to the steps below to see how to set up your e-mail address on your iPhone. If these steps don’t seem to work you might fall under the “Other Instances” category which give different scenarios of some of these steps. Scroll down and view your options. If it still doesn’t seem to work feel free to contact us for support (if you are client of Lenomedia).

 

The steps

  • Go to Settings App (The one with the little gear)
  • Go down to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  • Click on “Add Account”
  • Choose of any of the options, if you have an account with those, or click “Other”
    • At any of the options, make sure to have your correct password ready which you logged in to your account on your computer.

When choosing Other:

  • Click “Add Mail Account”
  • Make sure to have your correct password ready which you logged in to your account on your computer
  • Choose Imap
  • Enter all information that has not been automatically added
  • “Incoming Mail Server”
    • Host Name: mail.yourdomainname(or other such as gmail) .com / .co.za (This might differ. Go to “Other Instances” for alternate options)
    • User Name: Full E-mail Address
    • Password: Your chosen Password
  • “Outgoing Mail Server
    • Host Name: smtp.yourdomainname(or other such as gmail).com / .co.za (This might differ. Go to “Other Instances” for alternate options)
    • User Name: Full E-mail Address / First half of e-mail (before the @) / random name generated by server.
    • Password: Your chosen Password
  • Wait for verification process to complete

 

Other Instances

Afrihost

  • If your domain is hosted by Afrihost, set your incoming and outgoing server as:  hellion.aserv.co.za

Bluehost

  • For Bluehost clients set your incoming and outgoing servers are mail.yourdomainname.com.
  • At advanced settings, at “iMap Path Prefix”, type: INBOX  (all caps)
  • Go to THIS VIDEO for more details on the setup process.
  • If you see the following warning don’t worry. Connect anyway, or tick the box that says “Always Trust This”.

The identity of “Mail.domainname.com” cannot be verified
The certificate is not valid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “mail.notforgottensa.com” which could put your confidential information at risk. Do you want to connect to the server anyway?
